We should have listened to the reviews, despite what it says, this is only for opening and not closing links. Several reviewers have said this and I thought they were just using it incorrectly. I've tried everything and there's no way to open this thing wide enough to close a link in a normal thread. I ended up taking another reviewer's advice and using a dremel to sand down the bulge that is preventing it from opening too far. Now it works as both normally open and normally open!

Wanted to save a few bucks and replace my chain, already had a chain tool but needed it for quick communication. Well, it's only good for one direction and will help you REMOVE the quick connect.
