Wanted to save a few bucks and replace my chain, already had a chain tool but needed it for quick communication. Well, it's only good for one direction and will help you REMOVE the quick connect. When REPLACING a link in a new chain, as mentioned by another reviewer, the tool WILL NOT OPEN IN ENOUGH PART due to the limit screw/protrusion. This was very annoying and prevented me from fully assembling the chain. Next stop is a bike shop to finish the job. I had to spend a few bucks more on a Park or Shimano tool. UPDATE: I ended up having a version of this park tool that worked for me. I would like to add that I contacted the manufacturer of this tool and explained the problem. Their service was very responsive to my pointing out the tool's shortcomings and said that they would modify the tool in the future. They also offered me some other items from their catalog to make things right - which is a very nice touch. While I can't recommend the tool as it is, I give full credit to the customer service department.
