Replaced the year-old Smonet system, whose wifi signal from the cameras seemed to be declining over time, with this system. The location of the cameras is exactly the same, outdoors with the house wall between the cameras and the DVR, 25 to 75 feet apart. Went from zero - 2 cycles intermittently on Smonet to 3-4 cycles on these. The Smonet cameras hung and stuttered from the start. Support was present and responded but jumped through hoops to no avail. This system is plug and play, has higher resolution and works in absolute real time without freezing or stuttering. We use cameras to monitor our carp and duck pond which has enabled us to keep up to date with predator visits and habits so we can put safeguards in place and confirm they are working. This is not possible without a reliable system. Smonet froze or stuttered at the worst possible moment. The equipment is very similar, probably from the same Chinese manufacturer. So maybe the difference is newer, not the company. But Smonet was still under warranty, and the best they could do was send me a Wi-Fi extender, which due to their location, was difficult to match with our cameras, but even after all these tweaks, the extender was able to get the signal not improve all. . They wanted pictures and offered to call. 3 weeks back and forth, no improvement. Installed a new system with no problems. Now happy.
