I usually wear size 12 for women's clothing. I bought 42.5 and it worked great. I originally wanted to choose the 43 because it was comfortable enough to wear if I was walking longer than 5 minutes. I decided to downsize to 42.5 because I heard they stretch. I'm glad I did as I think the fit suits me (very snug but not painful). It's not hardcore by any means, but for a beginner I really like them. I replaced the laces with elastic Quick Lock laces. This makes slipping off the back of the shoe between climbs much easier and faster.
