I used these to install a freshly cut and painted cedar porch railing. They scream "QUALITY" and are a delight to behold. I remodeled a new porch that cost about $10,000 and this in no way detracts from the other quality components that were used. In fact, they praised the newly sandblasted and powder-coated 150-year-old iron porch balusters. I installed the porch railing horizontally rather than vertically with the OZCO Railing Saddles facing inward (viewed from the porch, not the street) and the fit, finish and appearance are impeccable. The powder coating on these rail saddles will last for years. I recommend installing them on EVERY lot by the porch railing. And they come with thick bolts that hold the saddles securely to the rail. The screws are thick. So if you're using tough hardwood for your rails that tends to split, be sure to pre-drill holes for the saddle bolts before using the bolts provided. Top drawer hardware that will last for years. Hard to find!
