Review on Ravenna Home Traditional Plug-In πŸ’‘ Wall Sconce: LED Bulb, Brushed Nickel Finish by Clint Blackman

Good looking light with limitations

Overall this is a pretty nice plug in wall light but with some limitations. The mounting mechanism is rather rudimentary, making it difficult to install the light flush with the wall. It's just two screws that you screw into the wall (they also come with drywall screws if you need them), and the mounting bracket slides over the two screws. Then you can tighten the screws. It mounts securely to the wall, but definitely not the most sophisticated or professional mounting mechanism I've seen. On the other hand, it's so easy that anyone can do it, and if you know you'll be moving soon or live in a rented house, you can install it with minimal wall damage. The lantern is also fastened to the mounting plate with two screws from the visible sides. They're the same color as the light so it doesn't matter, but I would definitely prefer a mounting mechanism with no visible screws. I like the metal shaft that hides the top of the power cord, which makes this light appear more like it's wired rather than just plugged in. Also, the power cord is quite long, so I was able to mount it fairly high up on the wall next to the top bunk bed in my son's room without having to get an extension cord to get closer to a standard-height outlet on the floor. In general, this is a good device. It's not exactly something you can buy at an expensive hardware store, but you won't pay anywhere near that much for this lamp.
