Review on Mayfair 26MBSL 000 Benton White Matte by Dennis Goozmer

Bemis/Mayfair engineers and chemists have a need to research and improve the finish that they apply to these seats. I bought the Bemis about 4 months ago and while it's a well made and beautiful toilet seat, it had a bad odor coming from the new box that couldn't be removed (tried bleach, ammonia, vinegar, dawn what anyway). That). I thought it was going to be a bad run so I ordered this Mayfair as it looked similar in style with chrome hinges which I like. Same smell problem. When you are within 5ft of it the smell is like the toilet and seat hasn't been washed in over a year. That's rough. I've seen several other Revain reviews saying the same thing. I love the style of these seats but then again I need to buy and try another brand. Unfortunately, due to California health and safety laws, I cannot return these items. It's a bit awkward anyway, so I'll just eat the prize and move on. I plan to contact Bemis/Mayfair (they are the same company btw) to let them know about this horrific manufacturing defect so they know. Possible update in the future. crossed fingers
