Scrubbing the boat deck gets a lot of stains on the white gelcoat that can't be removed with oxalic acid, plain green paint, or anything else that can be done with a deck brush. Also, after cleaning and before waxing, the gelcoat needs to be buffed to remove oxidation. You can buy an electric polisher and polishing paste, or just use it. The Magic Eraser removes stains from the gelcoat, but it is not a complete solution. I spray the area with diluted Dr. Bronners on and together they remove most of the stains from the gelcoat. This combination is very effective for me. They also work for removing rust stains from rails, for general descaling. Oh, one more tip: this material is called melamine foam, google it and you'll find it 10 times cheaper.
