Doesn't work well with 64-bit Windows 7 over SATA (works well over USB)

Maybe it's just an incompatibility with my motherboard's SATA interface. (which I doubt as my motherboard is pretty decent, the top of Gigabyte's offerings for the popular Intel P45 EP45-DQ6 chipset). But still I thought it would be helpful to point out that it doesn't work properly. via SATA (lots of corrupted files) on 64-bit Windows 7 (haven't tried it on other OSes) However, it works very well via the handy built-in USB interface.
