I got this after my 10 year old factory Diamondback Outlook (Mountain Hardtail) seat finally broke. The old seat was narrow and had a smooth surface and I only rode it in soft shorts and then it was perfect. It completely disabled my bike and ride. First, the seat forward/back adjustment isn't far enough back, so my bike's dimensions immediately disappeared. I got it as far as I could but it's a little off. Next, the surface feels like an eraser—there's too much friction on it, so if you're wearing regular shorts you'll be rubbing against the friction, and if you're wearing soft pants they're too bulky to feel uncomfortable. And the friction causes either the shorts or cycling shorts to grab and lift. I think if your butt is big enough that you need something like this it might work, or if you're wearing jeans and it's for commuting or something, but to me it's a waste of money. I need to buy another regular sized seat and not overdo it. Update #2: After a 26 mile ride. Since cycling shorts were too bulky, I opted for normal shorts. The first 15 miles or so were fine, but it's still too bulky and the inner thighs get a lot of chafing. Also, the seat isn't reclined far enough yet, making for an uncomfortable position, and the size of the bike doesn't match it puts much more strain on my hands and knees. Also, 15-26 miles without cycling shorts became uncomfortable. Unfortunately I now have to buy a more traditional seat. I would return it but I've already used the damn thing and it's a third party so I don't want to deal with the hassle. Just remember. Update #3 9/6/2021 I ended up spending another $25 on a drop down seatpost that moved the seat back another 2 inches and it barely got where the bike size is correct but the tilt is still weird. . When I push a click forward, I feel like I'm slipping. When I push back, the front end seems to stick out like I'm happy to see the world. Right now I'm thinking of wrapping tape around the front to press down. The texture is still sticky. i hate this place It's bullshit. Update: 9/19/2021 I still hate this thing. The seat gets very hot, hangs on cycling tights/shorts and I hate that I had to buy a seatpost for it. Update 10/30/2021 I really really hate this place. I have to use a seatpost for this to work and that's why I can't use the saddle in the back. It's terrible. I hate that.
