Love that it comes with 3 as I have 3 kids. The devices work great. Each requires 4 AAA batteries (recommended to be rechargeable) and they last for several days with almost constant use. Longer as the novelty wears off. Pros - A set of 3 instead of the standard 2. If one is off the other two will work by themselves - Works as soon as you put the battery in - VOLUME (I set the volume to the minimum for all) - Lots of channel/ Sub channel combinations to Select so you can avoid cross traffic - B Everyone has a lantern - very handy for my kids who are afraid of the dark. - Can take a beating - my kids have dropped them repeatedly and the worst that happened was the battery cover and some of the batteries popped out. Things to note: - It's easy to press the scan button to switch channels and it just rotates so you have to press it. at the right time to get it back on the right channel. My kids hit it sometimes and it takes an adult to fix it. - Even when the volume is turned all the way down, there is still a very loud beep before and after pressing the talk button. This can be turned off by turning off the sounds. Use the guide to understand this process. It took forever to teach my kids to release the buttons after speaking so other people could hear them. But it wasn't the radio's fault. Overall a quality product that my children benefit greatly from. Highly recommended.
