After two decades, the vent door of my original big egg finally rusted through. I wasn't sure if they had changed the placement of the holes over the years and couldn't find any measurements. So I gave it a go and I'm happy to say it fits perfectly. The quality seems great and the price is fair. I haven't used it yet, but I don't understand why it won't work well. In fact, the perforated holes should improve air control for slow and slow smokes (like brisket). I hardly ever had to open the door to keep the temperature at 225º. Assuming there is less airflow now, I think there should be a little more control at the bottom of the temperature scale. All in all a great product.
