We chose them for all of our bedrooms and a hallway in a mid-century house to alleviate the dreadful 'chest' -Replace lamps. They are easy to install and work with LEDs. The 'Specifications' section says 'Incandescent' under the lighting, although the product description mentions LED first, which is a bit confusing. They also recommend the Revel bulb which is a faux Edison style bulb, although these bulbs are interesting I'm not sure they would make sense in this fixture. In principle, any A19 light bulb under 40W is sufficient.
