Review on Setter 70 1203 Black Exhaust Header by Rick Kreutzer

Perfect fit for my 1999 Chevy S-10 2.2L engine. I bought this header after my stock header cracked. This manifold is a set of 3 separate components (manifold and 2 pieces of S-shaped pipe) that end on a flange in front of the catalytic converter. I had a muffler installed at a shop so I can't comment on the complexity of the installation process, but they did it in about 3 hours. The paint came off about a day or two after installation, but my S-10 is my daily driver; no show car. So I don't care about looks. In terms of power, I noticed a slight increase in power over the stock header (about 5hp noticeable at higher rpm I think). My S-10 setup is a K&N inlet and a single Flowmaster 60 series inlet/outlet and that track sounded very good! I couldn't be happier! EDIT: FEBRUARY 03, 2015 I have upgraded my title rating from 5 stars to 3 stars for the following reasons: 1) The manifold gasket that came with it is ABSOLUTELY rubbish! DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED GASKET! 2) High quality manifolds are available from Revain at a lower price. Last weekend I spent about 8 hours removing the exhaust manifold gasket that came with the manifold and replacing it with a new steel gasket. I have replaced it with a Victor Reinz Gasket Victor Reinz MS16311 Exhaust Manifold Gasket Kit and I can already tell from holding it in my hands that it will be a much better gasket than the one that came with the kit. The seal that came with it was absolute junk! It basically resolved itself in just 9 months leaving me with a nice annoying exhaust leak. It broke due to construction. It was like paper or cardboard. No metal or steel. I only had the gasket for about 9 months before I had to replace it. I have a stock S-10 engine, and while it's my everyday engine, the gasket definitely shouldn't have failed in such a short amount of time. The old pad felt as strong as Dorito chips. I'm not even joking! Having already purchased this hat I would not recommend it. When I bought this title it was the only one on Revain so I took it. But now there's another nice looking header that will fit and currently costs $40 less than this header from Auto Dynasty. I would choose this one instead. Plus, like I said, the color fell off in no time. Not that it matters much, but you definitely won't get any extra points for it.
