Review on 🚽 Highly Efficient Wayne RPP50 Cast Iron Sewage Pump for Reliable Wastewater Disposal with Piggy Back Tether Float Switch, Black by Chris Horton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good flow and head, transfers solids as advertised, float switch works but is not its best feature

This is a good working pump and transfers solids as advertised. The float switch needs a lot of depth to turn on reliably, and it turns off when the motor case is mostly open and uncooled. This is important because without submersion the motor will overheat and the thermal fuse will shut it down until it cools down. This means that this pump must be installed in such a small pit that it will not overheat as long as it is only partially submerged in water. This should not pose a problem when used as intended. When used for related purposes, e.g. For example, to keep the water table low, to fix a broken pipe in a septic tank, or to pump out a pool full of leaves and pine needles, the pump motor can overheat. A garden hose sprayed on an engine can only cool it with a fraction of its consumption.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • not reliable
