Manufactured by GE/Haier, this toaster is part of the Cafe range of home appliances. It has a nice design and thanks to the extra large slots, it toasts bread, bagels, waffles, etc. of all widths well. I've been using this brand of filter coffee maker daily for a few weeks now and it works flawlessly so I had high hopes and so far so good. My previous toaster had a mostly plastic body, and while it cost about half the price of this model, it felt ten times thinner. This 2-slice toaster makes a high-quality impression, but is not too heavy. The 3-prong power cord is heavy and although relatively short, a suitable extension cord can be used with the unit if required. Toaster presets: bagel, express finish (ready in a minute), reheat and freeze, and a toast/cancel button for easy toasting. Surrounding the toast button is an LED-lit ring with 8 hue settings for each of the preset buttons and a small indicator light. The toaster comes standard with a removable crumb tray and a raise/lower lever to prevent finger burns when removing toasted items. The controls are intuitive, making it easy to get started using the toaster, although a detailed instruction manual is included. Before first use, I toasted a few slices of bread to dispel the machine smell that comes with new toasters and small appliances. Beautiful design, attractive matte black with copper accents. Very good toaster.
