I've wanted a shift kit for my TV for a long time since I saw a friend of mine and I don't know why I waited so long. I have a 42 inch TV and only one strip fits perfectly. Installation was very easy, although I first checked where I would attach the strip with regular tape until I was comfortable with the placement. I was also able to remove the entire strip and mount it slightly higher on my TV with no problems. I like the different colors of the backlight and the ability to dial the brightness up and down. I often suffer from migraines and lighting is usually the main trigger and as a student I always work on the computer too but I'm already realizing that the lighting kit will have a positive impact on my migraines and eye strain and will provide a comfortable ambient lighting so you can enjoy the No need to turn on the floor or table lamp. I'm also planning to buy another one to put on my kitchen cabinets as I want to draw attention to my high ceilings and set the mood. The remote control "died on arrival" or just didn't work. as that would apply to those who aren't entirely tech savvy, to say the least. The remote has a tab that MUST be pulled to allow the battery to contact the remote. Another thing is that the IR receiver, which is next to the USB port, needs to be in sight for the remote to work properly, so I placed it closer to the TV. I haven't had any interactions with changing lights when I turn the volume up or down or change channels.
