I bought this to act as a switch for my cooler so that bumping the switch wouldn't turn it off. It is set up in such a way that closing the cover will turn it off and the only way to change it is to modify it so that the cover can swivel to the other side but there is no groove to ensure that it stays that way. There is a groove on the cylinder and a tab that slides on down it to keep it from swiveling from its intended position. To modify it, I would have to grind that tab off and just make sure it us tight enough not to swivel.
