My father loves the unit and this was to replace another switch he installed for my mother's desk lamp. It seems such an easy task, but the older you get the harder it gets to reach the big awning and flip the switch - it's amazing how much skill it takes. After only a few days without a switch on her side table, she made it clear that a replacement was needed. I found this and my 80 year old dad who loves gadgets installed it in minutes (including the velcro on the table to keep it in place). The old saying "if mom isn't happy, then nobody's happy" is certainly true - but now EVERYONE is happy again ;) ! PS I've been using it for about a month, there are no problems.
