Quirky, but works good for me

Setup a pain because the app does not picture this plug, just a single one. Was confused because second outlet blue lite doesnt work. and at first after setup that outlet would app select.but no power!Then all of sudden had power to.huh?Anyhoo using to automate home theater off/on.to reduce vampire standby power draw. Note other comments about setup directions true. just awful.So far, so good.Goes on sale.will buy another twin pack.

Instruction lacking

Good product. Instructions did not match the item. Instructions showed a power off button on the side. Units did not have it. To get the WiFi to connect, I figured out that you had to press and hold both arrows on the front for 3-5 seconds and they would blink blue. Then it would connect to the app. If you want the item to turn on at a certain time, then turn off, you need to cease a schedule for each event. One schedule for on, and another for off.Other than wrong instructions, items work…

Great for your price

So I plugged it in and tried to get it to connect to my wifi took a bit but I had to connect it to the outlet near my router first and then move it to the outlet I wanted which was a bit further away and now works fine, but as for the Alexa integration, when I tried to connect it directly from the app I would get an error message that my Alexa app was not updated and I had to go through the Alexa app itself to add my devices but over all works great I would honestly get more once I need them

  • Took 30 seconds to get it integrated and working. Super fast works awesome and I love it!!

  • You're better off buying the real Alexa. One of these stopped working within 4 days of installing.

Five star customer service, three star connect instructions

I have several different brands of smart plugs that I control through the Smart Life app. I wanted to add a double outlet, and ordered this one at a good price from Ebay. The set up instructions were confusing at best, so I contacted BN-Link customer service for help. The plug turned out to be defective, so the company quickly sent a replacement. no power to the outlets - returned; replacement works

I was able to connect it ok. But when I turn a switch on there is no power to the outlets. Sending back. UPDATE on REPLACEMENT: I got the replacement and it's working. As others have said the instructions are problematic. For example they don't explain that only one blue arrow lights up when establishing the network connection for the entire 2-up outlet.

Hard to set up best in my review

Experienced the same difficulties setting up as described by other reviewers. No instructions in the box. Downloaded Android HBN app from play store and could not get it to set up after several tries. Google search referenced TUYU app. Finally got it to connect to the plug after several tries. These were challenging to sync with wifi . . .

but once I watched the video on Ebay [with the product], it wasn't bad. The written directions were not thorough enough. Since it wasn't quick and easy, I procrastinated on setting them up. It was super easy after watching the video and only took me a few minutes to get them all online. They are working beautifully with my Alexa, and I will definitely be purchasing more. I love the ability to name each outlet on the plugs. The routines were really easy to set up. Great value for the money!

The light is annoying but I guess it works fine

A little hard to set up at first but then I watched a YouTube video and it explained everything so much better. The thing I can’t stand is the bright lights. It’s sooooo bright that it keeps me up at night. Works as a night light but not if you like complete darkness to sleep in. Might just find black tape to cover it cause the double outlet is really convenient.

Like it, but use a different app to use it with Alexa

So far I like it. But I can't say too much about the original HBN app, because I deleted it and I am currently using the Smart Life app instead. The instruction leaflet that the socket came with can use a little updating. It was confusing and it took several tries to add the smart socket to the app. The app itself was not too confusing, but it still took several tries to connect the device. Great quality and convenience

Took me a minute to figure out exactly how to set this up but once I figured it out and all it's capabilities I ordered more. I recommend using the Smart Life App and use the Bluetooth option for adding the plugs as I had trouble with wifi picking them up until I first found them with Bluetooth.

Bought these to help our home look like we're home while we will be traveling out of the country. for a few weeks.Bought them early enough so we could learn how to use them and actually see how they work prior to leaving and they do exactly what they say they do with ease.To find a pack of 4 for the price was incredible, square ones work so much better than round ones because the round ones take up too much space that you can't use anything else in your outlet.Get then before they're gone!

Works when connected

I purchased a single and a double pack to use for automating our indoor christmas lights. One of the plug units does not work at all. The other two work once connected.I cant reach customer service by phone and will need to figure out how to return or exchange the non-functioning unit. A bit bummed that it is not easier to contact customer service at HBN directly. The number just rings and disconnects
