I have Nutone model 8830 exhaust fans and have used this motor to replace the old 4135 motor which was delivered with them in 1966. You will need to cut the shaft off a bit with a hacksaw as it is long and you will need to turn 3 screws to attach the motor to the old bracket in your Nutone fan (this is easy, just do them individually). Time to keep the motor from falling apart when they're all at once!), but other than that it's a great replacement. Cleans the air much faster than dying old engines. They don't have oil holes like the originals, but at this price point, if they fail after ten years or so, they can be replaced and you can keep your sturdy metal cage (as well as the metal grille and heavy metal chassis). Strong metal everywhere!) Exhaust fan works fine or even better (these new motors are high RPM) like new for years. The hardest part was removing the squirrel cage from the old motor. I tested this motor in a bathroom for a year and it was so good that I will now do the rest of the bathrooms with it. I'm glad this cheap motor works great. No need to buy a super expensive "replacement" from the manufacturer. It is most likely the same motor as this one, freshly marked, with sawed shaft and reverse bolts. Photo"before". After the same. The new wire isn't grounded either, so it will do. The motor might need some help to spin and is a bit noisy when first used, but after a few minutes it breaks and quietly starts on its own.
