It gets the job done. There are some bad design decisions that make the crutch difficult to use, but overall it did what I needed and I was able to peel 10 pounds of cherries in under 2 hours (I removed the stems most of the time). The handle is more like a push and pull on the top to make sure the cherry pops out. The truck bed holds about 10 cherries but they seem to slip before I'm done and sometimes slide right into the bowl so I just guided them with my other hand. The ladle doesn't sit very high, so you'll need to use a small bowl to catch the cherries. All in all it was quick once I got into the process and figured it out. It is easy to disassemble and then clean.
