This device is always in pairing mode. It can be paired with two Bluetooth devices. So if you only connect it to one, it will beep every few seconds to let you know it's still in pairing mode, waiting for the second device to connect. I tried to use it for something very simple. I paired it with my phone and plugged into my car's audio jack to stream Pandora to my car audio system. The music sounded great, as did the horns. I even tried leaving it alone for 40 minutes. Still beeps when I turn my car's sound system back on. The only time it stopped was when I plugged a second device into it to complete the pairing.
