I bought this printer for my company to replace the Lexmark. I chose this one because they advertise as Linux compatible and I'm a little tired of having to restart my Lexmark printer between each print. As it turned out, it was even worse. No, I don't have to restart the printer, on the contrary, I have to restart my computer every time I want to print something. Uncomfortable? That's putting it mildly. Alright. I'm calling support. Your answer, literally? "We cannot reproduce the problem, but we are using a different firmware, you should update the firmware on your printer." How do I update the firmware on my Linux computer? There is no way to update the firmware from Linux. No Answer. No Answer. No Answer. So I ended up spending a few bucks and getting a Windows computer just to update the printer's firmware. My goal isn't to stuff the thing back in the box and send it back. I finally updated the firmware and lo and behold. the problem is worse. Truth? I think the words I have for this printer are not kind. I will refrain from using them. Oh, one more thing: if you used and printed with Lexmark, remember that the colors are at least 50% lighter. Now I have to figure out how to send this back the way it was after my 30 day purchase and only, because I was kind enough to take the time to make it work, which it doesn't.
