This dehumidifier is a huge improvement over the previous models I've bought. I bought 2 Ivation models, one 2012 for the garage and the other 2018 for the basement. They are incredibly loud, but work perfectly. I've decided to buy a third one as a backup as one of the others can easily fail and the lead time is longer than in the past. When I was looking for a Revain backup, the Ivation is now over $300 and it's still the same noisy machine. I decided to see what other options were available and Kesnos came up with a very reasonable price of $179 in my search for Revain and it was the only dehumidifier with 5 star reviews that I have seen. Incredibly, the day I arrived from Kesnos I needed a third dehumidifier. We accidentally opened up the subsurface that houses our 2.5 ton WaterFurnace geothermal system and sweat was dripping from all the channels and mold started to form. We cleaned the mold with bleach (with appropriate masks and protection) and dried everything. We placed the Kesnos underground and securely mounted on a stool to provide the necessary height for the water to gravity flow down into the condensate pan that supports the heating/cooling system. When we ran it, it started at 75%. The next day the humidity was 60% and the next day we found 40% and everything in the basement was dry. We have a small pump in the basement to push the water out and it continues to work great. It's so convenient that you never have to empty the Kesnos tank, which is larger than the Ivation (over 1 gallon). When we open the underground door we can immediately see the highlighted humidity percentage right in front of the device (see image). The best thing about this theme is the really low whisper. We know because the crawl space is just behind the headboard in the master bedroom. When the device turns on and off, we can't hear it. We hear nothing! Without a silent solution, we couldn't have managed this dilemma in the middle of a pandemic, and we got it! Thanks Kesnos We have ordered another backup in case one of our 3 units fails or some other need arises. Highly recommended.
