Image What a surprise I was when I found out that M1 computers can't support multiple external monitors! At first I thought it was my USB hub, but did a little research and found out it was the laptop itself. I started looking for solutions to this problem and found this product. After watching a few YouTube videos and doing a little more research, I placed an order. As soon as it arrived I plugged it into my hub and connected monitors but only one monitor was active. I remembered that I needed to run DisplayLink, which I had already downloaded and installed. After starting I tried again and now I had two external displays. I pulled different browser pages on all three monitors and was able to confirm that all three are independent. When connected to a power source, I can close the laptop but the external monitors are still active. So far I am very satisfied with the results. I want to connect another monitor, but another device seems to be required. I will first work with this configuration and decide whether I really need a third monitor. But I'm a lucky tourist!
