My old pump was rusted on the inside and the seal was leaking where the pump entered the tank. This new one featured a new seal and was louder and more powerful. I was able to install it on my 2000 Passat wagon (which has glass on the front and rear trunk glass) without having to remove the bumper or wheel arch or anything like I've seen similar YouTube tutorials.
