Review on ๐Ÿ  Feshen Aquarium Clip on Led Light: Full Spectrum Remote Control for Coral Plants and Fish by Kimberly Lee

Nice and bright, LOVE the timer feature

I had little concern that this light would be too big for my 3 gallon nano tank which is only about 10" x 10". . It works pretty well though. It's very bright, well made, fits light and secure, doesn't wobble and the sunrise/sunset timer function is great. At first, the night setting of the sunrise/sunset function seemed a bit off. It was too bright for real moonlight, and it didn't get dark until around 3am. However, after a spin or two, it seemed to smooth out and wasn't too bright at night. Now, around 11pm, that's real moonlight. So if you find it looks too bright at night or in the evening when you first set it up, run it a few times and it may fix itself without any manual tweaks. I really can't say anything bad about this lamp. All functions work well, including the remote control. I really wish it was a size down, maybe 9 inches or so wide instead of nearly 12 inches for nano aquarium owners. Although this is just a suggestion. I would highly recommend this light to anyone, especially as it doesn't cost as much as some of the other aquarium lights these days that have the same characteristics as this one. *** IMPORTANT UPDATE *** I've been using this light for a little over a week now and my opinion has changed. The sunrise and sunset function is not suitable for plant tanks. My plants thrived with the cheap LED clip that came with my tank. It only had white and blue LEDs. I didn't like that the light didn't have a timer and dimmer, so I switched to a Freshen aquarium light. Now my beautiful green lush plants are showing brown spots and tears. This Freshen lamp is brighter and covers a larger area of the aquarium than the previous one, which is why I believe the red and orange colors used to simulate sunrise and sunset are harmful to plants. I recently read on an aquarium forum that another person had the exact same problem when they first started using a sunrise and sunset aquarium light. Her plants used to be thriving, but then they suddenly started turning brown. Right now I'm just using white and blue light to see if that fixes the problem, but the problem is that the timer doesn't work with that color combination. The timer works ONLY when you use the sunrise and sunset function. The timer will NOT work for white or white and blue light. You also cannot access the colored LEDs from the remote control. The full brightness of the colored LED lights can only be activated with the sunrise and sunset function. The combination of blue and white light can only be activated via the button control on the power cord. Pressing the red, blue, or green button on the remote control gives the white light a very minimal tint. However, this aquarium light has full intensity red, blue and green LEDs, but for some reason they don't light up when you press the colored buttons on the remote control. So now the remote control AND the timer function, the two main reasons why I bought this light, are almost useless for me because I have a planted aquarium. If you have LIVE plants in your aquarium, this light may not be for you. Unfortunately I may end up sending it back and going back to the cheap flashlight that came with my tank.
