I wanted a fairly new/modern LED monitor, around 24 inches (with a small bezel/bezel so as not to waste a lot of space) and with VGA and DVI connections (and an HDMI connection in addition to those two would be a nice bonus ). ).This monitor met all of those criteria. Also, I'm much happier with this monitor than the similar Asus I bought (and returned). Asus always had a yellowish appearance no matter how I changed the settings. 40 out of 3,000 Asus- Reviews criticized the yellowish color). My only minor complaint with HP is that the blue light that indicates the power is on is much larger than necessary - see my first 2 pictures, front and side views. The 3rd picture shows how I sealed everything but the front of the blue light with black tape. It's not that big of a deal and I still gave the monitor a 5 star rating (at least it doesn't have a huge glowing bar all around the bottom like the ViewSonic I reviewed!)
