Review on DEWALT DW7451 Compact Table Stand by Farhad Cantu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than bulky universal stands

I bought this because comparable universal stands were bulkier and still cost around $40-50. I was hoping I could use the wing nuts instead of the included hardware to make it easier to remove the saw from its stand for transport. The reason for this is that the part that the saw is attached to is a piece of bent metal with a burr that prevents the wing nut from turning. I can become a paddling pool and make a gap with a dremel. I'll wait a bit and see how many times I have to take it apart before doing this modification. I've read reviews complaining about the height of the assembled saw. I am 33 1/4 inches tall. It's just below my waist and honestly doesn't bother me. I'm 5'10" and every instrument, body position, and proactive planning of the incision is key to safety. It's tall enough that I don't have to bend over and I already have 1/2 of the 4 x Ripped 8" layer with no problems. I had a friend help unload, but casters or a makeshift/custom work table would help too. I wouldn't use it to create long rips on my own. Overall, this stand makes the most portable ones Dewalt table saws much easier to use and is very well made.
