I've had this since 2014 and it hasn't been used as much as it should be but it has just changed. Luckily we measured properties in acres and when my neighbor burned the top 4 feet of his expensive double walled chimney and melted the lid, the hot ash didn't hit my roof. That wasn't as efficient so I'm buying now Rods as my chimneys are only 15ft long for both wood stoves it only takes a few sections I have also put both creosote and soot remover in the stove and it helps a lot and is worth it In 2014 cost he about $8 but once you've seen what a chimney can do you'll think it's a steal at twice the price as it's durable and well built and gets the job done.I tie a small rope... to the other end of the brush, because if the handle fitting breaks I have an easy way to get the brush out. and relieved t the disassembly... and be sure to keep the door closed as the dirt coming out of the pipe is awful to clean. Last summer Gabor cleaned his pipe with a cheap little brush that wasn't very long and did little to help it catch fire, and it's a good thing he didn't open the oven door. I don't want to offend anyone's intelligence, but many pipe fires are caused by burning untreated wood, and the resulting wood fumes can be dangerous. I've been fueling mine for at least 2 years and I always have a hot fire with no smoke and my neighbor burns his the year of purchase and he's the one with over $400 in the middle of the heating season.
