Since I own a one story ranch home I figured I'd give the chimney a good clean. The brush is made of polynylon to avoid scratching the stainless steel insert. I burn two strings of firewood a year and that has saved me a lot on professional chimney sweeps. The only issue I had was that it fits very snugly and cannot be used to brush up and down. You have to go all the way down and then come back because you can't change the direction of the middle pipe. The few times I've used it I've trimmed the bristles very slightly each time so they're still snug, but now I can use up and down strokes to brush better.

I've had this since 2014 and it hasn't been used as much as it should be but it has just changed. Luckily we measured properties in acres and when my neighbor burned the top 4 feet of his expensive double walled chimney and melted the lid, the hot ash didn't hit my roof.
