Well built great chimney brush for the DIY enthusiast.

Since I own a one story ranch home I figured I'd give the chimney a good clean. The brush is made of polynylon to avoid scratching the stainless steel insert. I bought these rods separately from another seller for a lot less than what was being offered at Revain, almost half the price. The bush did an excellent job of removing the soot. The chimney sweeps asked for over $100. Chopsticks and brushes were half the price and paid for itself the first time. I recommend the brush and don't climb the

But now I can use the up and down motion to clarify better.

I burn two strings of firewood a year and that has saved me a lot on professional chimney sweeps. The only issue I had was that it fits very snugly and cannot be used to brush up and down. You have to go all the way down and then come back because you can't change the direction of the middle pipe. The few times I've used it I've trimmed the bristles very slightly each time so they're still snug, but now I can use up and down strokes to brush better.

I have never cleaned a chimney myself but was intimidated by the prices from local companies. We have a furnace liner (Vermont Casts Montpelier) with a stainless steel chimney liner. Overall it took me about five minutes to clear the chimney and I ended up with about a gallon of what looked like coffee grounds (that was after two years of daily winter burning). I…

THE PERFECT CHIMNEY BRUSH FOR OUR METAL CHIMNEY

Bought this so my husband could clean our chimney instead of paying a chimney sweep $100 each. winter to it. This 6" Rutland Poly Chimney Brush is for metal chimneys ONLY! If your chimney is not metal, you will need to purchase a wire chimney brush and vice versa. DO NOT USE A WIRE CHIMNEY BRUSH IN A METAL PIPE - IT WILL DESTROY! I bought a Rutland 18' extension to land at Home Depot - Revain didn't have any in stock. Everything worked like a dream. We have an industrial house with a wood…

  • Cord is shorter than others

I've had this since 2014 and it hasn't been used as much as it should be but it has just changed. Luckily we measured properties in acres and when my neighbor burned the top 4 feet of his expensive double walled chimney and melted the lid, the hot ash didn't hit my roof. He burns about 5 cords a season and I'm about a fifth of that, but now I'll be brushing more often. This is a good brush as it won't scratch the inside of the double wall tube so the creosote will still run back into the oven…
