Review on Silver Canon EOS M Compact System Camera - Body Only: Advanced Features for Photographers by Christine Gatlin

Great camera! - Point & Shoot digital cameras

I've read previous reviews that complained about the focus speed, but Canon released a firmware update that cured the problem. Canon has lowered the price anyway, making it a real bargain. I use it with a 22mm lens, which is also fast, very sharp and inexpensive. One feature I really like is the touch screen and how you can use it to trigger the shutter. . With my Canon 50D SLR, I place the focus area (a couple of small brackets marked in the viewfinder) on what I need in focus (eyes if it's a person), press the shutter button halfway to focus, and lock it. , then I half-press the button to lock focus, combine the shot however I want, and press the shutter button all the way down to take the picture. The process takes less time than read here, but still takes a few seconds. With the EOS M, I can just compose a photo and lightly touch the screen with my finger where I need sharpness. The camera focuses immediately and releases the shutter. It's really fun and the results are excellent. The only downsides to my book are the lack of a pop-up flash and the small pen on the front under the logo. However, you must not violate the terms of the contract. This is a cool little camera that can produce very big results.
