I had no problems accepting the cartridge from the printer, but the ink ran out just as quickly as a standard HP NOT XL cartridge. Black print quality was on par with HP, but color wasn't. I printed 20 standard quality 4x6 photos and they were already 1/2 empty (for reference I can get about 20 photos on HP and use a 1/4 cartridge). . thus a waste of photo paper and ink. I would recommend a black cartridge, but a colored one, at least for photo printing, is "no". I don't know if I only have bad cartridges but like others have said I didn't use them until after I got through the return or replacement window so I won't know.
