Good product! Good size for the price and my little parrot loves to rest on it. I've noticed that most of the reviewers' photos are shown flat side up, but I flipped mine when I noticed my bird was sitting under this one to pick at the bark. I'm still new to bird keeping but from what I've read it seems that the bark side up gives the bird paws a more natural feel and may be better for paw health in general due to the wrong texture. . I thought I would be smart enough to "flip" this perch, but maybe I was wrong. I have learned that it is important to have a flat perch for your bird. This gives them a chance to rest their legs and can help prevent "bumblebees," a common bird/parrot disease you can find yourself. Anyway, I think this perch is great - my Zazu loves it! - but the direction you face really depends on what other perches you have and your bird's specific needs.
