As long as they worked they were fine - maybe three stars. The Eve app itself is relatively fun, especially compared to some incredibly poorly made apps from Eve's competitors, as well as HomeKit apps in general (Apple doesn't help either with their clunky and poorly designed default Home app). Not only do these devices rely on Bluetooth, which can be inherently unreliable, but they are notably unreliable even by Bluetooth accessory standards. This applies to all Eve HomeKit accessories (I have about a dozen in total) - any HomeKit automation based on them is very unreliable due to their unreliable and very limited connectivity range. Other HomeKit accessories I own from other brands that rely on 802.11 (Wi-Fi) tend to work much more reliably in this regard (and with a much longer range). them - if you don't sync within this period, you'll simply lose any data that existed up to the time of the last sync. It wasn't *too* outrageous at first because I used it a lot, but over time my need to check the app (and thus sync my energy history) became less frequent and this limitation became an issue. If you're trying to track cumulative power consumption -- and usage patterns -- over months or years, these gaps can ruin it completely. So why could I give them three stars at best, even though they more or less worked. However, four months ago, one of Eve Energies stopped syncing their energy history with the app. History only - I was still able to reliably see instantaneous power usage etc, but usage history just doesn't sync anymore. The app displays a progress bar indicating that something is supposed to be loading, as other similar accessories do, but this progress bar invariably hangs halfway, and data almost never actually appears on the performance history charts (I have data for five incomplete days). ). in the last 120 days despite over a hundred synchronization attempts). Eve Technical Support troubleshooting steps require removing the device from the app, which will delete *all energy history* for the lifetime of Eve Energy. So in my case it basically renders it completely useless (and worse than useless since I don't currently have a time machine that I could use to go back and buy another Smart Jack to avoid total data loss).
