I bought these shoes for hog hunting in Texas and Louisiana where there are more venomous snakes than I'm used to up north. Luckily I didn't test them on a snake! They appear to be of good quality and have excellent coverage, covering the entire calf just below the knee and also extending to most of the toe. You feel well protected in them. I'm a tall guy and I have big calves. They had a lot of settings and I still had room for more adjustments. I work in the electrical industry and will probably take them in my work truck if I have to work in snake areas because where I live there are copperheads and rattlesnakes.
