High quality filter with very small holes to allow only the finest ground particles to pass through and settle at the bottom of the carafe. When poured carefully, there is very little looping in the cup and the flavor is very smooth and rich, with no bitterness. The lid is well designed allowing the filter to slide in and out easily but the carafe is glass. So be careful when you clean them and put them in the fridge.
