Review on Noctua NH-L9i, High-Performance Low-Profile CPU Cooler for Intel LGA115x (Brown) by Andrew Gomez

When using this item for the corresponding CPU and reasons (e.g. a non-overclocked CPU with a TDP of less than 65W, designed for low noise, better cooling than cooler OEM , etc.), this thing is perfect. I have no doubt that this thing will keep i3 and maybe i5 super cool without even breaking a sweat. i7 and anything ending in "k" is a different story. I tried using this with i7-7700k (not overclocked). The manufacturer's website clearly states that this thing is for processors with a TDP of 65W or less, and the i7-7700k has a TDP of 95W. It didn't cool down my CPU and it went in less than a minute CPU in thermal throttling during every stress test. Reasons I would suggest this cooler: - Low-profile build - If you're concerned about keeping noise levels down - Offer better cooling than the standard Intel cooler that comes with most CPUs - as long as it does You have the noctua pooh-brown color theme with your components.
