Review on πŸͺ‘ ALLSTEEL Evo Task Chair: Sleek Black Design with Dusk Mesh for Enhanced Comfort by Dave Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Convenient but expensive

Before ALLSTEEL Evo, I used the Steelcase Series 2. While I'm very happy with the Steelcase Series 2, it didn't have a headrest and I've tried to find one online with no success. The ALLSTEEL Evo chair also lacks a headrest, but the backrest is slightly higher. Sitting closer to the front of the chair allows me to rest my head on the top edge of the backrest. It's not very comfortable to lay my head like this, but it's enough for a minute or so when I'm tired. This chair was packed in a huge box with almost zero padding. I'm surprised the chair arrived safe and sound. This is the easiest chair I have ever assembled and I have assembled many chairs in the past. It consists of two parts, I just need to connect the top and bottom. It literally took 10 seconds. The chair itself is very comfortable. The pillow is thick and quite firm. I like the adjustable lumbar support in the back because everyone is made differently. I can adjust my lumbar to the most comfortable position for me and it makes a big difference. The 4D arms are the same as the Steelcase Series 2, I can move them up and down and in and out as needed. I like to put it at my desk height and it really helps when I'm working with or using the mouse all day. There are two controls under the seat, one for height adjustment and the other for seat depth adjustment. The height adjustment is easy to use, but adjusting the seat depth requires some practice. The weight-activated recline doesn't work as well as the Steelcase Series 2. The chair I received only reclines slightly. The ALLSTEEL Evo chair is durable, high quality and very comfortable. Is it worth the current list price of $779 plus tax? no I would pay about $400 for it ($500 for the headrest).

  • Acceptable
Cons
