Looks good but very poorly finished and unsafe

VERY VERY POOR QUALITY There were actually no screw holes in half of the wood so following the instructions I tried to screw it in actually I did pressed against hard wood (no pre-drilled hole for me to screw anything in). Also, things started to fall apart quickly. One of the shelves on the steps broke in half when my toddler stepped on it to get to the sink to brush his teeth. Sigh! Definitely insecure. He looks great!. It just has to be done well.
