Review on 🚿 Hansgrohe Ecostat Modern 2-Handle Shower Valve with Diverter in Chrome - Pressure Balance Trim Included! by Justin Coatsworth

Revainrating 2 out of 5

4 months later I'm not impressed. The only problem was the non-standard shower.

I really liked this control as it matched all the other Hansgrohe faucets I bought when installing a custom shower at the end of the summer. Everything was very tight, but it was only enough for a few months of use. I have two main complaints, 1) Both the main stick and selector became very wobbly and wobbly. There is a small rubber cover that allows you to insert a hex wrench to tighten when removed. It worked the first few times, but it's gotten a little better now as the connection slack is still very noticeable and feels cheap. Not what you want after investing thousands in a custom shower. 2) My shower went from very warm/hot to now that it can be warm. I understand that limits have been set as part of controls to comply with state and county laws. So I read the user guide, which mainly just describes how to set it up. And by description, I mean that the instructions are barely adequate and come across without sufficient explanation for each step. I just tried to fix the temperature issue and could barely get it back to what it was before I started adjusting it. . And now I'm afraid I might as well tolerate it since I can't pay a plumber hundreds to install something that should otherwise be easy. I understand that this is not an American product, but its interior is very complex. and the aesthetics of a well built product quickly faded after just 4 months of use.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
