Ownership: over 2 years Number of uses: several hundred I cycled to the Texas Medical Center in Houston every day and locked my bike in front of one of the busiest public hospitals. Sometimes I've parked my bike in places with very little security surveillance, and on several occasions I've left it overnight. I am happy to report that my bike has never been stolen or hacked. It's an intimidating looking lock which I assume is an anti-theft device in its own right. I like the strong chain encased in a thick black sleeve that says "KRYPTONITE". The powerful locking mechanism is well tuned so there's no mistaking whether it's locked or unlocked. The extra key is nice to have as a backup, I even registered mine so I can order more in the future if I lose one. I've used this lock over and over again and exposed it to extremes of heat and humidity, as well as heavy rain, and yet it still seems to work just as well as if it were brand new. I did some research before buying a bike lock and settled on this type and brand; Of course I'm happy with my decision. For maximum security I would recommend using two different types of locks e.g. B. a chain (like this one) and a massive bar. So the thief has to use two different tools to get your bike. That being said, most of the time I didn't bother securing my bike with just this chain.
