Review on LG 27GL650F B Ultragear Monitor: 1080p, 144Hz, Adaptive Sync, HDR, Flicker Free by Michael Tegan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

OK, but there are details.

I like the picture quality, the monitor is still IPS. It has a very noticeable impact on my gaming experience as it's 27 inches tall and buttery smooth. The monitor is REALLY 144Hz. I got 1 star for two minor reasons: When I tried the monitor with an HDMI cable that was not included and connected it to an old laptop, the monitor randomly flashed black when the voltage to my house changed (say us: the fridge turns on), but when I tried the DP cable that came with the monitor and plugged it into a brand new PC, the problem went away (no blinking at all). I still don't know if the flickering was the result of an HDMI issue in the monitor itself, a bad HDMI cable, or an old laptop that I connected the monitor to (10 years old). There are many theories on the internet as to the cause of this problem. The other reason I gave one star is because I can't find the LG OnScreen Control software on the LG website at the moment, although it was available on the LG website 2 weeks ago and I downloaded it and found it on the I used the old laptop mentioned above. I need this software now for a new PC. You need this software for screen splitting and more. It looks like LG has removed the software from their website. I can't imagine why. I bought it for $279 minus shipping and duty and to this day I have no regrets. I recommend you buy it ASAP because the price is now $249 if of course you have the money. But if the price changes by more than $300, think twice before you spend (I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it for $300 or more). I will update the review if there are any issues. Edit: I am writing this on December 21st 2019. Today I found 2 dead pixels, they are not noticeable unless you are looking. I know this can happen to anyone and any brand, but I'm deducting another star.
