Review on Reese Towpower 74377 Pod Brake Control: Efficient Black Trailer Brake System by David Bar

Reese products seem to be successful. Some people get a great product at a great price, but I have a lot of headaches.

I specifically ordered this unit because it needs to be plug and play with my Nissan Frontier. I read ALL the reviews and questions and I was pretty sure this device should connect and work. Instead of a wiring harness that fits my truck, it arrived with just pigtails (no connector at all). There were breaks in the wires, which appeared to be related to a plug that had been attached to it at some point in the past and later removed. This leads me to believe that this block was actually sent back to the manufacturer and then sold to me (I didn't order a recommendation block, I paid for a new one). Judging by other reviews on this product, it is very common to find a missing plug or an advertised plug, so be careful. Seems like Reese has a very sloppy inventory record and is sending you "something" that matches what you asked for. So I spent even more money to buy a matching wiring harness and screw it to the pigtails. Now the block is installed on the truck. As I also read in the reviews, there is no indication that the device is powered on or even working at all unless a pendant is attached. So once again, be careful. Since I'm only picking up the trailer 2 days before our vacation, I don't know if I wired it correctly, or even know if the lock (possibly bank transfer) works until it's too late to return it. I can simply drive unbraked on vacation. In that case, anyone who needs this device can find it in a ditch somewhere near I84 between Portland and Boise.
