The mechatronic sleeve is slightly longer than the OEM and did not allow the connector to connect well on my e60 even though the part numbers matched. I used an electrical cleaner to clean the connection and reattached it with a pry bar to make sure it was fully seated. Turned it on and when I clicked it from above the error message went away. I had to remove the bushing and replace the o-rings on the factory bushing with new ones. Plugged in and everything worked. This one appeared to be a bit longer despite having the same part number as the OEM. This made it somewhat difficult to get a good connection to the car, which was sensitive to electrical issues.
