I bought this looking for something that could light up my desk in low light. There were some small quality issues that did not affect the use of the product, but the metal strip on the bulb bulged and ruined the bulb's appearance. The entire structure is made of plastic, so it is very light. Since the power comes from the included power supply, you can take that for good or bad. This was inconvenient for me because when you plug in a lamp you need something like a spade terminal or a traditional plug. I would have to make extra room for the plug and the USB port, which sticks out even more than a traditional electrical plug. There was no sleep mode that I could find. I plan to return.
