This is a durable container that keeps my ice cream fresh and prevents freezer burn. Much better than a plastic dish rack. A good trick I've found is to put plastic wrap under the lid. This provides a snugger fit and prevents freezer burn. One caveat: as it's plastic, it's very slippery when placed on a granite countertop. If you're not careful, it can slip and fly off the counter when you try to scoop out the ice cream. This happened to me and my daughter laughed and accused me of being accident prone. Two days later she picked up the ice cream and it slid off the counter with a bang. Now it has a nick in it, but it's not cracked or anything and works just as well. So definitely durable. I liked it so much that I bought a second one. BTW, I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker and it doesn't fit all of the ice for one batch. You really need 1 1/2 containers for a standard custard ice cream recipe.
