Review on Canon 6514B001 CLI 251C Cyan Tank by John Larsen

How do you think Canon makes money?

I have used Canon inkjet printers for many years and prefer the cheaper models that print no larger than 8.5x11. I consider these printers disposable and just throw them away after the print head "dies" which seems to be the main reason these printers fail. There is no point in repairing them as it will cost more than the printer. Of course, every time Canon (and others) launch a new line of printers, the old cartridges become unusable. Clear? This is a fairly legal way of separating the consumer from their money. replenish ammo? Why would anyone do that? The print head fails and the cartridges are unusable, So buy them as needed. The printer will 'alert' you when it's running low on ink (no, it won't run out that quickly), giving you time to order replacement ink. Canon is practically giving these printers away. Why? So they can sell you ink that costs more than the printer. This doesn't just apply to Canon. Look at other brands of printer ink and you will see that they all play the same game. However, I have to admit that the print quality is excellent considering the price of the printer. It's ink that sucks the money out of your pocket.
