So I teach high schoolers (sophomores), and I kept seeing this desk pet trend on TikTok where elementary school teachers would give their kids these little erasers. After seeing a HS teacher try it out, I figured I’d give it a go. I was hesitant because I thought my kids would think it was stupid, but boy was I wrong. They got very excited when I started giving them out to students who did their work and were on task or participated in discussion. In fact, one of my other students who isn’t in my regular classes but my yearbook class asked for one, which means the kids are talking about the desk pets outside of my class. :) These were such a fun purchase and I will be buying them again when I run out.
